In relation to your comment about someone shouting and people running in response, it's worth looking at the story of what happened at the Shiloh Baptist Church, if you've not come across it. Someone shouted fight, due to an incident, and people thought they'd shouted fire. A stampede happened and many people died. It has parallels with what you've written about.

I wasn't aware of the Shiloh Baptist Church story. I just read up on it. Yes, that is a very clear example of what I'm talking about. I think this same dynamic can happen in many ways. When we are afraid we become like herd animals.
This is all very disturbing to me. I had been pondering the "NPC" role as well, and I had just recently come to the conclusion that they were not real. It gave me comfort, but unfortunately for my peace of mind, I am certain you are most prolly correct. Sigh.... This world is so complicated. 😔

We really are all the same beings - human beings - but just some of us are in a trance and some are less so. That's all I'm really saying.
