This is interesting, I have a friend that we only see each other once in a blue and we have an amazing time feeling so connected, but we can not seem to communicate effectively through messages and never speak on the phone. In fact they specifically never answer. We just can’t seem to understand what the other is saying or meaning so we drift apart until the next in person meeting. Then with another friend it’s the exact opposite, we get along perfectly over the phone, a few misunderstandings over messages that are easily resolved, but once we are in physical contact, everything goes south usually quickly.
Hi Jacquie - Sorry I almost missed your message. Yes, I have friendships like this and I know exactly what you're talking about! Telephone friends and in person friends are often very distinct.
Pippa, what is so wild here is that since I was a teenager a recurrent element of my dreams is inability to make calls. Phones (which began as pay phones with cut chords or inability to receive coins, and then moved up to cell phones with no service, etc) never ever ever ever work in my dreams. I see a phone and I can lucid dream because I go " uh oh the phone again." I usually desperately need to reach whomever I am calling. And I can't. I also have a 6 year friendship which is almost exclusively voice messages. Often by the end of successive messages, my friend will come to her own clarity and not even need "present me" to return a message. She needed my field to hold her inquiry. It is quite cool. We almost never ever speak in real time.
This is wild! This definitely sounds like Timeline Mechanics. I would interpret this as there is a Timeline your soul is trying to reach and not quite making it. The someone you desperately need to reach is an aspect of yourself. Excellent that you can bring lucidity to this in your dreams. I would start visualising yourself making successful phone calls. Do this in meditation and throughout your days. Imagine yourself successfully calling yourself. It may just forge the connection.
I love this about your friend! Some friends do seem to be 'phone' friends only, but this is one step further and is a 'message' friend. How marvellous. Thank you for sharing.

I recently had a dream where I was using a smart phone and they say phones never appear in dreams
You're right, phone dreams are rare. It sounds as though you were doing some Timeline Navigation in your dream. Excellent.

Wooosh that makes me cry. Trying to reach Me. I will indeed sit with that. Wow.
Bless you, dearest Jacqueline.
I really hate speaking on the phone and avoid it if at all possible (I'd prefer to text). An attempt to stay anchored without interference?
